Freeburn Estate is a complete alteration and refurbishment of the existing home along with significant expansion. A core part of the brief was to establish separate sleeping wings as the kids are nearing teenagehood and each wanting their own space. On top of that was to create more user friendly living environments and to demarcate between spaces including a media space, kitchen/dining and the summer house. The addition of the summer house creates an island paradise away from the main home. It also doubles as a wind break sheltering the pool and landscape from cooler South Westerly winds.

A sprawling rural estate yet close to town. We’ve gently balanced the country estate with urban touches. Cedar cladding with traditional detail sit against tray roofing and cedar-sarked pitched roofs. Custom cedar barn doors and pea gravel driveways are juxtaposed against bold joinery in both steel, timber and aluminium. Grated louvres in powder coated aluminium adorn the chimneys and gable ends offering both practical and aesthetic appeal. Inside oak flooring, custom doors and heavily detailed kitchens and bathrooms reinforce the luxury tone of this beautiful country estate.
